1954 Fire Prevention Parade

The 52-week Fire Prevention Project was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce... dramatized each FIRE PREVENTION WEEK in October with parade, school events which activated 8,500 students, speakers for all service clubs and community organizations, fire fighting demonstrations by the Richland Fire Department, fire prevention films in the theatres, church programs, and a House of Hazards with 100 fire, safety and health hazards for public visitations.
Richland won several "first" National Honors and won first in the State of Washington from 1950 to 1955.
